Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Crayford
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the approach taken by Man with Van Crayford to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights, act ethically, and ensure that modern slavery has no place in our business or in the services and products we procure.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Man with Van Crayford operates a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, child labour, and any exploitation that strips individuals of their freedom or dignity. We expect the same standards from all parties we work with, including suppliers, subcontractors, labour agencies, and business partners.
All managers, employees, and contractors are required to act in accordance with this policy and with local and national legislation. Any action or omission that may enable or conceal modern slavery is treated as serious misconduct and may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Crayford provides transport, removal, and related logistics services. Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing or purchase, fuel providers, equipment suppliers, and, where necessary, subcontracted transport or labour services. We recognise that some of these areas may present a higher risk of labour exploitation and we prioritise controls in these parts of our supply chain.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who uphold high ethical standards. Our expectations are communicated through our supplier requirements, which cover compliance with labour laws, fair wages, safe working conditions, and the prohibition of any form of forced or child labour.
To support these expectations, we apply a risk-based approach to supplier due diligence and audits. This includes requesting information about employment practices, reviewing available policies and statements, and, where appropriate, conducting checks or site visits. We reserve the right to conduct audits of suppliers and subcontractors, announced or unannounced, to verify compliance with our anti-slavery requirements.
Where non-compliance is identified, we aim to work collaboratively with the supplier to address issues through corrective action plans and follow-up reviews. However, we will terminate relationships with any supplier or partner that refuses to remedy serious breaches or that is found to be knowingly involved in modern slavery.
Employee Awareness and Responsibilities
We expect all employees to play an active role in identifying and preventing modern slavery. Staff who manage procurement or supplier relationships receive guidance on recognising risk indicators and escalating concerns. New starters are made aware of our zero-tolerance stance and the importance of reporting any suspicion of exploitation, whether within our operations or the wider supply chain.
Reporting Concerns and Protection
Man with Van Crayford encourages anyone, including employees, agency workers, suppliers, and members of the public, to raise concerns relating to modern slavery or human trafficking. Concerns can be reported directly to a manager or to senior management. Reports may be made confidentially, and information will be handled as sensitively as possible.
We will not tolerate victimisation of anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Retaliation or harassment of whistleblowers is treated as a disciplinary matter. All allegations are taken seriously and will be investigated promptly, with appropriate remedial and safeguarding actions taken where necessary.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility and that risks may change over time. Man with Van Crayford is committed to continuous improvement of our policies, procedures, and controls in this area. We actively review feedback from audits, incident reports, and industry guidance to strengthen our approach.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every 12 months by senior management to ensure it remains effective, accurate, and aligned with legal and best practice requirements. Updates may also be made sooner if there are significant changes to our business, supply chain, or relevant legislation.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Crayford and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our operations.
